All children know that. A bad dream can easily spoil a good night's sleep. Fortunately, soft toys exist to help them face their worst nightmares and turn them into pretty stories.
In Dream Catcher, little players will need to use their sense of observation to choose the best blanket that will destroy the rowdy nightmare.
Catch Dreams is a board game for ages 4 and up for 2 to 4 players. The game takes place in several turns:
The choice of the blanket: Once the first Nightmare card is returned to the center of the table, each player must in turn choose a blanket tile which, according to them, completely covers the nightmare of the card.
Checking the Nightmare Coverage: Each player, in turn order, places the Cuddly Tile they have chosen on the Nightmare card to check if it is perfectly covered by the Cuddly Toy. If the nightmare is not completely covered, the bad dream wins the battle and the player does not get a dream token. If the nightmare is covered, the player has defeated it. He then draws as many Dream tokens from the pillow bag as there are stars on the chosen blanket.
At the end of phase 2, the nightmare card is discarded then the Doudou tiles are returned to the center. A new Nightmare card is turned over and a new turn begins.
End of the game:
The first player (s) to collect 12 Dream Tokens wins the game. Their clouds are then filled with sweet dreams.
Dreamcatcher incorporates two variations that increase the game's playability.
The cooperative variant "Good night little ones": In this variant, which can be played from the age of 3, players face nightmares together. If after eight rounds all of the nightmares have been defeated, the players win the game.
The "Restless Night" variant: In this version, which can be played from 6 years old, all players must grab a Doudou tile as quickly as possible and place it on their board. Then they move on to turn resolution as for the base game.
